Group Courses for Beginners
Playfully and with absolute joy, the youngsters will be gently introduced to the sport of skiing. Our excellently trained ski instructors will take loving care of your children (ages 4 and up). With a magic carpet and children's practice lift, you can be certain your kids will have the time of their life.
In order to be able to achieve better learning success,
we recommend booking the beginner's course FULL day.

SKILLS-GROUPED COURSES
Our goal is to spark the youngsters' enthusiasm. If we excite them about skiing, success will inevitably follow. We will ask the kids to briefly show us what they can do before assigning them to a group that matches their skills. And because we want your kids to feel completely comfortable and at ease with us, our program also incorporates lots of great fun and enjoyable activities.
Assembly point: sunny side on the Edelweißbahn, below the Hotel Cinderella and behind the Hotel Montana
Course Times
- half-days: from 10 AM to 12 noon
- full days: from 10 AM to 12 noon & 1:30 to 3:30 PM
Courses start on Sunday and Monday and last until Friday. Saturday is a ski course-free day - private lessons can be booked.

Lunchtime Childcare
Lunchtime childcare when attending a full-day ski course:
Euro 25,- per day/child
This price includes a fix 3-course lunch, a drink and childcare. Please reserve a spot in advance since capacity is limited.
If your child suffers from an intolerance or does NOT eat certain foods for other reasons, please let us know BEFORE making the reservation so that we can clarify with the restaurant wether it is possible!
All serios allergies or food intolerances cannot be accounted for.
If you do NOT announce this in advance, we assume no liability and reserve the right to de-register the children from lunch care.
Skills determine the color
Here with us, groups are assigned according to skill level. A provisional group assignment will be made on the basis of your initial booking information.
Beginner
- never stood on skis before.
Intermediate
- able to make controlled stops.
- able to ski a series of consecutive turns in snowplow position, with varying speeds, on blue- and easy red-rated hills.
- diagonal traverses with parallel skis.
Advanced
- plow taxes on red slopes.
- carrying the sticks.
- first parallel turning in long and short radii with stick use.
- first carving on easy slopes.
Expert
- carving on red slopes.
- safe driving on black slopes.
- freeride and mogul slopes.

PARENTS WHO VISIT SKI COURSES
- If you wish to visit your child during their ski course, please do so at a distance and remain out of sight. Our ski instructors make every effort to ensure lessons go smoothly with as few interruptions as possible.
KiKi's tips to prepare for the ski course
Reservieren
Um den gewünschten Kurs garantieren zu können, reservieren Sie im Vorhinein! Skikurse – gerade in den Ferienzeiten – sind heißbegehrt und wenn die Gruppen voll sind, kann leider niemand mehr aufgenommen werden.
Ausrüstung und Helm
Leihen Sie am Besten hier vor Ort in Obertauern. Mit den neuen Materialien geht der Lernprozess viel schneller und einfacher vor sich. Gibt es Probleme, kann schnell die Ausrüstung getauscht oder umgestellt werden. Zudem gilt eine Helmpflicht bis zum 16. Geburtstag.
Kurs- und Liftkarte
Am besten Sie kaufen alles schon einen Tag vor Skikursbeginn. Dies erspart die langen Warteschlangen am ersten Skikurstag und die Gruppe kann pünktlich starten. Fahrende Kinder ab 6 Jahren brauchen eine eigene Liftkarte. Die Kurskarten können Sie dann in Ruhe in der Unterkunft ausfüllen (Wichtig: die Telefonnummer!).
Abschied nehmen
Kommen Sie bitte pünktlich zum Skikursbeginn, ab hier übernehmen dann unsere Skilehrer*innen. Je länger Sie in unmittelbarer Nähe bleiben, umso schwieriger wird der Abschied für Ihr Kind und den reibungslosen Ablauf des Skikurses. Bereiten Sie Ihr Kind schon Zuhause darauf vor, dass es z.B. 5 Tage OHNE Eltern im Skikurs sein wird.
Gerne können Sie aus der Ferne die Fortschritte beobachten.
Bekleidung, Brille und Sonnenschutz
Bei Kälte achten Sie bitte darauf, dass Ihr Kind warm genug angezogen ist (Thermounterwäsche, wasserdichter Skianzug und Handschuhe, Schlauchtuch und Unterziehhaube). Bei Schneefall ist eine Skibrille unbedingt erforderlich. Scheint die Sonne sollte eine passende Sonnenbrille mitgenommen werden. Zudem ist es extrem wichtig bei Sonnenschein das Kind mit einer guten Sonnencreme mit hohem UV-Faktor einzuschmieren.
